Kids America – What was it…

Kids America was a fabulous radio production that came from WNYC in the mid 80’s. Since this was before the web, I have decided to post some articles about the show in the hopes that people like you will stumble accross them.

If you remember Kids America, PLEASE send me an e-mail: ka_email (this email wasn’t working before, sorry. It works now…)

I would love to be in touch and reminisce about the show and put together a nice celebration of it.

I am working on digitizing the tapes I have and hope to post some snippets of these online soon. I also wrote a wikipedia article on K.A. and submitted it. If it gets published, it will be here.

Woohoo! Kids America! What a great show – creative, thoughtful, engaging, and totally kid-focused. I volunteered, answered phones, talked to kids. Adopted a kitty in the studio (brought in by Dr. Rita Book who saved it on the street). Ahhhh, fond memories!

I was a high school intern for several years at Small Things Considered and Kids America. I played Judy Garland as a Mystery History guest (the only time I went on air!). Happy to chat about memories working for Marcy, having lunch on the top of 1 Centre, etc. – and if anyone has the Judy Garland clip, I’d love to hear it.
